Terms & Conditions
In these terms and conditions the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings (and, where applicable in these terms and conditions, the singular shall include the plural):
“Auction”: The auction runs by Galvin’s Chance, a project of DM Thomas Foundation for Young People during the Term.
“Auction Terms and Conditions”: These terms and conditions relating to the Auction.
“Bid Period”: The period, during which a Participant may bid for a particular item in an Auction.
“Raffle”: The raffle runs by Galvin’s Chance during the Term.
“Raffle Terms and Conditions”: These terms and conditions relating to the Raffle.
“Raffle Period”: The period, during which a Participant may purchase tickets in a particular Raffle.
“Term”: The period of time that the auction and the raffle are active, between XX and XX.
“Chocs for Chance”: Chocs for Chance is a fundraising initiative of Galvin’s Chance, a project of DM Thomas Foundation for Young People.
“Participant” or “you”: A person who participates in the Auction or Raffle.
Chocs for Chance is a fundraising initiative of Galvin’s Chance, a project of DM Thomas Foundation for Young People Registered Charity no. 1084220 (England & Wales) and SC038995 (Scotland).
Galvin’ Chance if the beneficiary project for the auction and raffle, and will be rewarded all profits raised from the auction and raffle.
AUCTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All auctions will take place between 26th January 2018 and 5th February 2018.
During the Bid Period each Participant must go online to chocsforchance.org from where they’ll be redirected to eBay to place their bid.
A valid and active eBay account is required in order to place a bid The auctions will be run according to the terms and conditions of eBay. Where a bid is successful, the Participant will be contacted by Chocs for Chance and eBay.
Full details of all auctions will be available on the Website including any specific terms & conditions for each lot.
Bids for an Auction item will only be taken during the Bid Period. The successful Participant will be contacted by Chocs for Chance and eBay.
Participants must be 18 years of age or over. We reserve the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.
Payment for an item must be transferred through Paypal or debit or credit card or bank transfer.
The amount to be paid, having been deducted from or charged to the Participant’s debit or credit card, shall constitute consideration. All Participants must ensure that, prior to placing a bid; they are able to pay for any item which they wish to bid for.
All matters relating to the Auction shall be at our sole discretion.
Notwithstanding that a successful bid has been received, in the event that we discover that (i) the Participant was or should have been ineligible to make a bid for an item, or (ii) that the Participant should have been declared invalid for any other reason whatever (at our absolute discretion), we reserve the right to reject the bid. In such circumstances, we reserve the right to offer the prize to the second highest bidder.
All items have to be paid for by 7th February 2018 so delivery can be made in time for Valentine’s Day.
Please note, items will be sent by courier and although we will try our best to ensure all products remain intact we cannot guarantee this.
There are no refunds available on any purchases.

Star Prize – a box of chocolates designed by Fred Sirieix with a £150 dinner voucher for 2 at any of José Pizarro’s restaurants, kindly donated by José Pizarro.
2nd prize is a 2hr masterclass in chocolate making for up to 6 people with Ben Spalding in London.

The raffle will take place at Galvin at Windows on 12th February 2018. Winners will be notified on the same day so please note that it is mandatory to provide contact details.
Raffle buyers must be residents of the UK. Due to the perishable nature of chocolate, we are unfortunately only able to post to addresses within the UK.
Galvin’s Chance and Chocs for Chance are initiatives of DM Thomas Foundation for Young People, Registered Charity No. 1084220 (England & Wales) and SC038995 (Scotland).

All delivery payments must be paid in advance of delivery taking place.
When an item is delivered, risk of damage to, or loss of, the item passes shall pass to the relevant Participant.
We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of any of our obligations under these terms that is caused by events outside our reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”).
Our performance under these terms is deemed to be suspended for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, and we will have an extension of time for performance for the duration of that period.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
All items offered for Auction shall be subject to availability and we shall not be liable for any claims, expenses, costs and/or any losses (including, but not limited to, loss of profits, indirect, pure economic and consequential losses or otherwise) or any damage (save for death or personal injury arising from negligence) suffered by any Participant.
