The first ‘Chocs for Chance’ chocolate auction took place in 2015. To help Galvin’s Chance, Fred Sirieix, General Manager of the Michelin-starred restaurant Galvin at Windows, gathered well-known chefs, bakers and food writers; including Michel Roux Jr, Raymond Blanc OBE, Jamie Oliver, Jose Pizarro, Eric Lanlard, Chris Mackett of the Hand and Flowers, Joo Won of Galvin at Windows, Marinos Kosmas of Duck and Waffle and master chocolatier Paul A. Young to name but a few, to create bespoke chocolate boxes for some lucky people on Valentine’s Day.
From 26 January – 5 February 2015 a 10 day online auction was held for people to bid on the luxury chocolate boxes for their loved ones, which were be delivered on Valentine’s Day. This was an original and generous way to provide a unique and romantic Valentine’s gift while helping the Galvin’s Chance programme to continue helping disadvantaged young people to improve their lives.
